This workshop will introduce you to some North Carolina butterfly diversity, how to identify butterflies, and how to become a community science butterfly monitor. We will be in the classroom for about an hour and outdoors for about 45minutes searching for butterflies and practicing a survey. Bring close-focus binoculars if you have them!
This program is for adults. Please bring a refillable bottle of water and dress for the weather - hat, sunscreen and closed-toed shoes recommended. You will be walking approximately 1 mile over uneven terrain during the program. We will meet in the Outdoor Classroom, which is a short walk down the gravel path from the parking lot.
